I love when there are so many great shows to choose from but I hate when they end up on the same days and same times. Oh well, at least we have choices. On Thursday night former Bostonian Bleu returns to town for his cd release at the Brighton Music Hall with guests Will Dailey and Air Traffic Controller. Also happening on Thursday are The Waterboys at the Wilbur Theatre. Friday night has Califone at the MFA, The Scud Mountain Boys (with Joe Pernice) at the Brighton Music Hall, John Powhida International Airport at Toad, and the Crash Safety Benefit Night 3 with The Titanics, Corin Ashley, The Unholy III, The Phil Aiken Army, and Lenny Lashley’s Army of One at the Midway.

On Saturday it’s the first day of the Life is Good Festival in Canton with Hall and Oates, The Roots Dawes, and more. Saturday night has the final night of the Crash safety Benefit for MS with Sidewalk Driver, Gene Dante and the Future Starlets, My Own Worst Enemy, The I Want You, and Cotton Candy at the Midway and a night of cool covers with ’80s Ladies Rock Band Covers/Joan Jett Birthday Party at Radio. If you’re west of the city, you can check out 10,000 Maniacs at the Verve in Natick. Sunday is day 2 of Life is Good Festival with Jack Johnson, Amos Lee, Delta Rae, and more at Prowse Farm, Canton. Sunday evening has local surf band Beware the Dangers of a Ghost Scorpion’s album release at Great Scott and Scottish rockers Travis are at the House of Blues.

On Monday Oh Land is at the Brighton Music and at ZuZu there’s Hall Night of the Living Deadhead with Suno Deko + Tantrum, Audrey Ryan, and Chris Robley. Tuesday has Golden Suits and The Bynars at the Middle East Upstairs and Pickwick and Parks at the Sinclair. And on Wednesday night there’s Robbie Fulks at Passim and Jenny Hval at Cafe 939.

Amy’s Shows List began many years ago as an email list and continues as one to inspire people to catch live music around town. It was featured on Boston Band Crush and is now on The Dig.

My email is AmysShowsList@gmail.com if you have shows to add or want to be on the complete email list (which lists shows far into the future).
